From USA TODAY, “Yi Jianlian returned from China and the Beijing Olympics and joined 16 other players as the New Jersey Nets held voluntary workouts at their practice facility on Tuesday. Coach Lawrence Frank said the only players missing were forwards Eduardo Najera and Stromile Swift. Najera was at basketball camp in Mexico. Swift was in Louisiana working on hurricane relief. Frank is excited about the participation, hoping the new-look team becomes close and develops a work ethic that will carry it. ‘We’re going to have to be a talent-plus team and the plus is all the different variables that go into why certain teams that aren’t expected to be very good overcome those things,’ Frank said.”
